to no avail) I finally resorted to reinstalling a completely fresh version of win10 pro and installed nothing but Resolve, and, launching Resolve STILL showed the QTDecoder.exe and QTEncoder.exe initialization error messages! But it sounds like Resolve and QT are working fine for other win10 users, so it's all quite confusing.Īlso still looking for suggestions, while I ponder downgrading back to 7 instead of transcoding everything just to get by.Īfter much pain I finally got it to work.Īfter trying all sorts of things (removing ofx, manually installing various versions of qt, reboot sequences in between installers, letting Resolve install qt clean, uninstalling windows updates or other potential conflicts, trying different GPU drivers, etc. It's strange that QT runs fine stand alone, but maybe there's some hooks that are broken. ![]() Perhaps that has something to do with why Resolve is having issues accessing it. I should add that I also tried the default 7.7.4 QT version Resolve installs, the updated 7.7.6, and even manually unpacked 7.7.8 which for some reason Apple put a checker that looks specifically for win 7/8 so it won't install unless doing it manually. This is my first posting.Īny other advice or information you would like I'll be happy to try. ![]() If it is normal to create a separate post, I apologize and will do so upon your instruction. I am having the same problem but there are a few things I can add.ġ) a) I did 12b3 as my first install never having installed any previous flavor of Resolve.ī) I didn't previously have QuickTime installed either.Ģ) Immediately following the "Quick Time Decoder initialization failed." I get "Quick Time Encoder initialization failed.ģ) Upon getting these errors, I asked QuickTime to look for upgrades.
